This comprehensive workshop lays the groundwork for the application of performance-based learning. It focuses on establishing desired performance expectations; specifying performance standards; creating standards-based assessments; planning teaching and learning strategies that work; and aligning standards, assessments and instruction. Participants will design a customized, performance based, learner-centered course of study using the WIDS Software for immediate use in their own teaching/facilitating environment.  *This workshop meets the WTCS Certification 50 requirement.

Move your mastery of WIDS to a higher level and take the first step toward becoming a WIDS Trainer. This workshop is open to participants who have successfully completed Designing and Assessing Learning. During the workshop, participants will use advanced design techniques, coach others in developing courses, update and improve WIDS software skills, and develop model curriculum. Emphasis is placed on assessing curriculum for accuracy and completeness.
 
Who should attend: 
  • Anyone who has completed Designing and Assessing Learning and has submitted curriculum using WIDS Software prior to the workshop
  • Users who want to update their skills in WIDS.

What you will do: 

  1. Assess your own curriculum for accuracy and completeness.
  2. Coach other curriculum developers and offer feedback.
  3. Develop model WIDS performance-based curriculum.
  4. Identify overlapping or missing components in curriculum by using the WIDS Analyzer.

Registered and paid online workshop participants may change sessions until the 7th day of the workshop for a change fee of $25.00. Cancellations (without selecting a new/different session) requested at least 14 days prior to the start of the workshop will be given a full refund. Requests made less than 14 days but prior to the start date will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. Cancellations after the workshop begins will forfeit all fees paid.
