Dunwoody College of Technology
Dunwoody College of Technology (Dunwoody) uses WIDS for program and course development and considers WIDS the database and repository for their approved and active curriculum. All curriculum history is archived through submitted syllabi and course approval and expiration. Submitted syllabi are easily accessed for new faculty to reference and re-design for their own course sections, as well as for student transfer needs.
”WIDS does everything we wanted it to do when we purchased it years ago”, says Kathy Kegan Dunwoody’s Curriculum and Assessment Specialist. “It provides us with a consistent design framework and language, and we never have to wonder which course is the ‘right’ course.”
The curriculum mapping feature provides us with the information to focus course and programmatic assessment, items important to accreditation. The WIDS report capabilities have proven to be a timesaver in the development of new programs and courses.
Despite all that Dunwoody uses WIDS for now there are additional features that Kegan hopes to implement in the near future including:
- Core Ability Assessment Rubrics
- Program Assessment Planning and Analysis
- Data Integration
- Competency Bank for new Course Design
