Karen brings a variety of experiences in both the private and public sector in learning oriented roles. Karen’s most recent roles have been in the Wisconsin Technical College system as a faculty member, instructional design coach, and a dean for technologies and apprenticeship. Prior to that, she spent time in private industry creating a Human Resources Department and overseeing the development and delivery of customer technical training for a payment processing software integrator. Her experiences in the overseeing educational programs, developing curriculum, and working as a supervisor and as a peer coach help to provide Karen with multiple perspectives in her instructional design and curriculum development endeavors.
Karen’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Capella University. Her Masters of Education from the University of Toronto focused on Teaching and Learning specifically with the adult learner. Other degrees include a BS in Business Management and Marketing and an MBA. Prior to her work in the educational arena, she held management roles in manufacturing, small business, and publishing.
