Learning Design Consultant
Hal comes to the WIDS team with a diverse background in adult learning, leadership experience in community and technical colleges, and previous work in industry-based technical training. He earned a Master of Science in Education degree in Adult Education from Northern Illinois University in 1985. He also brings a strong liberal arts undergraduate education to the instructional design process. At Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville, Wisconsin, Hal managed customized training programs for five years, and then provided academic leadership as the Dean of the Business & Information Technology Division for ten years. Since 2007, he led the college’s Academy for the Assessment of Student Learning. His experience in program design and development, and his work with assessing both technical skills and core abilities, brings a strong foundation to the WIDS organization. Hal also worked at two Illinois community colleges for ten years before coming to Wisconsin. Hal’s desire is to match client needs with appropriate resources which will facilitate positive change and result in improved student learning.
Hal is a member of the Association for Career & Technical Education, Illinois Association for Career & Technical Education, National Business Education Association, Wisconsin Business Education Association, and International Society for Business Education.
